Jennifer Nicoll | Principal at Herald School

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Nicoll as Principal of Herald School. Jennifer will step into the role in the 2026-2027 school year. She holds a Bachelor of Education- Elementary from the University of Alberta and a Master of Early Childhood Education from the American College of Education. 

Jennifer brings over two decades of dedicated educational and leadership experience to Herald School. Most recently, she served as the Acting Principal at Webster Niblock School, successfully guiding the school community through its final year of operation with a strong focus on change management and compassionate leadership. Prior to this, Jennifer spent several years at Dr. Ken Sauer School as a Classroom Support Teacher, Vice Principal and Acting Principal. Her leadership background also includes serving as a Principal Designate and Learning Coach at Riverside School. Her diverse teaching career spans from kindergarten to junior high, including international and remote teaching experiences through a teacher exchange at Kadina Memorial School in South Australia and teaching in an Inuit community at Helen Kalvak School in the Northwest Territories. 

Jennifer is passionately committed to collaborative leadership and creating inclusive learning environments where every student is successful and experiences a sense of belonging. Reflecting on her approach to building a supportive school culture, Jennifer shares: 

"I believe that strong schools are built on meaningful relationships, realistic expectations, and a shared commitment to student success. I value collaborative leadership and believe that when staff share responsibility, students are better supported academically, socially, and emotionally."
