Kelly Marshall

Hello, my name is Kelly Marshall. I am so excited to be on this journey surrounded by an amazing group of colleagues, students, families, and community members.  Being part of a school this size is an adventure for all of us; getting to know each other and building a sense of community is a critical step, so here is a little more about me and the path that led me to today...

I completed my B.Sc. Kinesiology from the University of Saskatchewan in 1999. After a couple of years of working and travelling, I decided to go back to school. I completed the Masters of Teaching program (B. Ed.) at the University of Calgary in 2003. To start my teaching career, I moved to Medicine Hat, officially giving up my Saskatchewan residency (a little sad for me!). I spent some time teaching grade three at Webster Niblock and then in 2004 I started teaching at River Heights.  During my ten years at River Heights, I taught all grade levels K-6, working as Teacher-Librarian, with the majority of my years there spent teaching wonderfully curious grade ones!  In the fall of 2014, I was ready for a new challenge and began my current position as Learning Coach, now Classroom Support Teacher, at Dr. Roy Wilson Learning Centre.  Please stop by my office in the Learning Commons and say hello:)

Some of the things I enjoy when I am not at school include spending time with my family and friends, volleyball, slo-pitch, hiking, mountain biking, camping, kayaking, photography, and anything nature-related!  My husband and I have two wonderful children, who are teaching us so much.  We love seeing the world through their eyes and watching them change, learn, and grow every day!
