Scott Wendell

I’m Mr. Wendell and I am very excited to be at Dr. Roy Wilson Learning Centre this year! This is my first year of teaching and I there is no other school in the province that I would rather be at than WLC. I will be teaching Junior High Phys-ed as well as Grade 8 Humanities.

I grew up playing football and rugby for the Medicine Hat High School Mohawks before moving to Calgary, Alberta. There I played four seasons with the Calgary Colts while attending Mount Royal University. I received my Bachelors of Business Administration in 2015. In the final year of my degree I began coaching football at one of the high schools in the city. This eventually led me to enroll at the University of Alberta where I recently graduated with a degree in education. Now that I am back in Medicine Hat I am coaching football for both the Mohawks and the Hawks.

As you can tell, I love sports and the outdoors. I am an avid skier (I will miss living near the Rocky Mountains), a passionate cyclist, a big fan of basketball, and a fishing enthusiast. I am always open to trying new sports and activities - one of my goals is to cycle from Vancouver to San Francisco over a summer break.

I look forward to getting to know the students at Dr. Roy Wilson Learning Centre both through interactions in the classroom as well as through various different activities! The staff at WLC is kind, encouraging, and love children. This is going to be a fantastic year, full of challenges and opportunities for growth!
